You need a way to read the coordinates. The foldable paper map in the Map Room shows the numbered grid; reaching it requires completing the Red Tower route. Alternatively, the GPS near the Green Tower and chairlift area displays live four-digit coordinates and can guide you to the button without the paper map.
Keep at least two players available. One person must remain beside the locked crate while another searches for and holds the distant button. A larger group can split navigation, coordinate checking, and crate duty between more people.
Where to Find the 4166 Puzzle
The clue appears on numbered planks attached to locked collectible crates around the Red Tower route. The coordinate point itself is in the island’s south-central area, between the railway bend and the ski-lift tunnel.
Before splitting up, leave one player beside the crate. That player should not follow the coordinate search team because the crate only remains open while the distant button is held.
Use the numbered planks on the crate as a location clue, not as digits for a keypad. The numbers point to the remote button that controls the crate.
What the 4166 and 1899 Clue Means
The two numbers form a coordinate pair. On the paper map, edge labels use shortened values: 41 represents 4100, 42 represents 4200, and 19 represents 1900.
The first value, 4166, sits between the 41 and 42 lines. The second value, 1899, is almost directly on the 19 line. Their intersection points to a hillside with joined boulders hiding the button.
The shortened edge labels are the part most likely to cause confusion. The map does not print every four-digit coordinate at every grid line, so the player must expand the visible 41 and 19 values and estimate the smaller offset within the square. A GPS can confirm the reading when the search party reaches the hillside.

For the map route, complete the Red Tower, prepare its key, open the Map Room, and take the foldable map from the desk. Otherwise, find the GPS near the Green Tower and chairlift area.
Locate 4166, 1899
On the paper map, place 4166 between the 41 and 42 lines and 1899 very close to the 19 line. With the GPS, move until its two values match the clue.
Find and hold the hidden button
Search the side of the joined boulders on the hillside. The button is disguised against the rock. Hold it continuously and tell the player waiting at the crate that it is active.
Take the collectible from the crate
The waiting player must remove the collectible before the button is released. If the button holder lets go, the crate closes immediately.
Keep the communication channel simple during the final step. The button holder should announce when the button is fully pressed, and the crate player should confirm when the collectible is safely removed. Releasing early resets the open state but does not require restarting the entire puzzle route.
What Happens After Solving It?
The open crate contains a collectible used toward island progression and completion. Regroup after collecting it; there is no reason for the button holder to remain at the coordinate point.
The coordinate can still be useful after the reward is removed because it teaches the group how to read the paper map’s shortened labels. The same navigation method applies whenever another clue points to a numbered location rather than a visible landmark.
